Dale has been the general manager for ACTS since early 2016. Dale and the ACTS team; employees, volunteers and Board of directors, work tirelessly towards making the service as accessible, inclusive and reliable as possible. ACTS has experienced several achievements over the past year and we attribute this success to a multimodal and adaptive approach that is gaining tremendous interest.

For instance, our multimodal approach contributes to a range of services for community members. Some examples include the door-to-door service that can link to the town fixed route, the accessible and secure service to attend specialized medical appointments, the option to organize transportation for local groups and more. This approach allows for a nimble and unique service by ensuring ACTS can adapt to community needs and create service lines to achieve our mission and objectives. As such, our team aims to continue developing this multimodal and adaptive approach with the goal to promote increasingly accessible, equitable and inclusive transportation for all. Dale is originally from Stewiacke and he has resided in Antigonish for the past 14 years.

“My wife, Wanda and I have two children, Melissa, who works for the Department of Agriculture in Nova Scotia and Darren, a pharmacist in Winnipeg. We also have one super grandchild, Bristol. I am an avid outdoorsman who loves to cook. I also have a hop yard on some farm property that I own.”

Dale was an executive officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for 34 years and served in various locations throughout Atlantic Canada and Manitoba. He is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program at Cornell University in New York.
